Simon,
likewise.. I was expecting to be more impressed. I've even had my settings checked at my local garage. The Guy said the light pattern was weird!! I have to agree. On dip beam there is a dark patch and 2 strange "Vs" of light. preferred my Wipacs but the LEDs look better ![]() Clemmo ![]() Defender 90 HT............Pangea Green BMW X3 Msport............Carbon Black Mini Electric................Grey. The lights need to be adjusted! Do not put the adjuster right in front (like Halogen) use it about 20cm further away.
The mist appears from time to time when the lights are used just short times due to the temperature differences and dissapears after over 30 mimuts of use. WANTED: SII or SIII in max 1.5k |

I am loving my Trucklites! Again great service from Peter.
I adjusted my lights while parked level and about 4 metres away from a wall and got them where I thought they should be. They seem to give me a great light without the problems described and also don't seem to cause any issues to oncoming cars, so seem to be adjusted correctly. I haven't had them checked at a garage yet to see if they are officially aimed correctly, but they seem to be. |

^^^interesting comments Alex and Peter.
Alex, do you not have a dark area in front of the car...? Peter, what do you mean by "don't put the adjuster in front, like Halogen, use it 20cm further away..? Cheers Simon |

I do have a dark area immediately in front of the Defender, but I can only see this from standing outside and looking at it, not from sitting in the drivers seat. My view of the road over teh bonnet is where the light is, it is not possible to see the dark area.

^^^^interesting, I have a definite dark area that I can see from inside the car. As I said above it looks like 3-5mtrs in front of the car. The lights don't like they are set too high though, so I'll have to check it all, again.

usually, the dark area cannot or just hardly be seen from the driver seat.
The headlamp tester is usually direct in front of the headlamp whilst test. Just move it a bit farther away because the LEDs have a very sharp cut off WANTED: SII or SIII in max 1.5k |

should there not have been a plug fitted to the two loose wires to connect to the extra loom. Any idea where I could get 2 plugs?
ps I love the look and the light output and I've fitted a drl bumper which should fill in the dark area at the front |

Here's where to get a ready-made wiring loom to connect the position lights on your Trucklites:

spent yesterday driving from pembrokeshire to fife in scotland,
Would appear i still have misty headlights & that driving in a snowstorm is verging on terrifying, does anyone have details on the lights with the heated lenses? 110 XS DC M57 + 8 Speed auto ORA jeep- Sold Tomcat 88 |
