Rear ARB bush replacement
Not having much luck with this relatively simple task! Is it me?

As alluded to on another thread, I need to establish whether my rear ARB is standard.

It is approximately 18mm diameter and the rearmost bush 'saddles' have only two fixing bolts each.

The reason I am perplexed is that I am trying to get hold of a pair of new rear bushes, and I've been sent what appear to be front bushes (approx 25mm diameter hole and larger overall dimensions) by two separate suppliers????

When I've queried it, they both confirmed that they'd sent me the rears, so I am wondering if I have a non standard rear ARB?

Strangely enough (or not), the bushes I have received do fit the front (and are now fitted) so it's another job done BUT naturally I do want to sort the rear.

Any pointers/guidance? Can anyone tell me if their rear ARB IS 18mm diameter?

Cheers,

Will

Mmmmmm

Methinks I may have to encourage someone to go and measure their rear ARB Very Happy

How about.....

The first one to measure and confirm they have an 18mm rear ARB and point me towards a correct part number for said rear bushes will get a pair of brand new (surplus) front ARB bushes FOC in the post! How does that sound? Thumbs Up

Worth a try! Wink

It's your lucky day. I had my digital calipers in the house as my watch needed a new battery and this is the best tool to get the back off. Just pooped outside with a torch and phone. Bear in mind mine is coated in Waxoyl.

Shocked Rolling with laughter Shocked Whistle

Back on subject!
Maybe they've sent you 110 bushes, a 110 has a thicker more heavy duty ARB so that may be something to do with it.
Or as you say non standard ARB.

Well I suppose if you need to poop, you need to poop. And taking a torch, phone and set of calipers seems sensible Rolling with laughter

Thanks for confirming I hadn't gone quite mad (yet). PM me your address if you want the front ARB bushes as I'm very grateful for the confirmation and the link. Thumbs Up I promise I won't stalk you or send anything inappropriate Laughing

I shall order said bushes this evening, however if I receive another set of front bushes I too shall poop outside!

Steve, I never thought of that. I guess there re so many permutations.

Fingers crossed I will be nice and tight before Halloween Rolling with laughter

Thanks for the offer of the bushes but you can offer them up if anyone else wants them. Thumbs Up

Well spank my ass and call me Charlie. If you like that sort of thing....... Whistle

The correct rear ARB bushes turned up yesterday. 18mm diameter hole and much smaller than the previous versions supplied.

Thanks K9F. Thumbs Up

I've now got something to do in the rain. At least it won't rain under the Truck. You can remind me of that bold statement later.... Laughing

I did contact one of the previous suppliers to advise them of my latest acquisition and to let them know that despite their insistence, that the 'rear' version they sent was actually a front. They couldn't have been less interested. Hey Ho, it's not the end of the world and I can use them on another project.

Thanks all for helping me out (again). Bow down
