Are they screws and washers or flanged screws?
The parts catalogue suggests AB614061L (#14 x 0.75" self tapping screw) and AFU1069 washer but the photo appears to show flanged screws. ![]() ![]() |

From the one that I got off it was a screw and a washer, mines a TD5 I'm not shire what the pic is. It straight from the PDF from Gwynn Lewis. Can I ask where you get the info from? I seem to struggle to find these things. Thanks again. 2006 Defender Double Cab- Zambezi Silver |

The two parts catalogues are: http://cat.lrparts.ru (out dated but shows which parts are used on 90/110/station wagons etc) http://new.lrcat.com (more up to date but missing vehicle variation data) ![]() ![]() |

I've just taken the screws out of mine to fit home made shields.
They are screwed into plastic insets in the bracket behind the inner wing(at least they are on a 15my). If you're girding the screw heads off, you will probably want new plastic bits as well. They will either melt from the grinding heat, or you'll have to knock them out to remove the screw shank. HTH |

Thanks Martin,
I'll bookmark those two for future. DSC-off. That's a good point, I'll have a look at them too them. Knowing my luck it'll go to pot at some point and I'll need more bits. I knew as soon as I look at them that it was one of those jobs, easy but going to be a PIA. Mine are going to be home made from 4mm rally mud flap material. 2006 Defender Double Cab- Zambezi Silver |

I had a sheet of 2mm black plastic in the garage, don't know the spec. It's a hard type plastic but flexible enough to fit, easy to cut with a Stanley knife. I think they'll be ok, but if they don't last long I'll make some more from the "rally type" material Airpusher is using.
It was quite easy to do, make a template, trial fit, modify if required. Then cut 2 flaps exactly the same for LH and RH, flip one over for the other side. The Gwyn Lewis fitting instructions gave me some good pointers of how to fit and what they should look like. Not directly copied, obviously. ![]() |
