The best way to see some rallying? I would 100% say is to get onto the Volunteers in motorsport and become a marshal Not only do you get closer to the action, without the marshals the events don't run.
There is a job for everyone at all levels and events. Various jobs I have done include ITC's on the navigational events to Start and finish Timing on stage rallies. I have been to various places in the countryside and got to the stages where even the public are not allowed to watch. Nothing quite like being in the thick of things to enjoy it the most. I am now starting to do a bit more rally radio work and enjoy seeing the sights while being a vital cog in the works. Contact your local motor club and they will be eternally grateful for the extra help. ![]() |

This site is useful too as it lists events by month.
http://www.itsmymotorsport.co.uk. Would have to agree, if you've got the time, look up a motor club local to you, go along to a club night. It's what I did and I got into marshalling at events that way. I've even got into organising and helping run the single venue rally that my club runs too, something I never thought I would ever do. Not to mention competing in road rally's and 12 car navigational rallies in my own right too. Registering with the MSA as a marshal has its advantages too, such as insurance, and you can work your way up through the grades if you so wish. There's training courses run by MSA trainers too such as first aid and first on scene type courses which are well worth attending. Having said that its sometimes nice to go along to an event as a spectator too, means I can take my camera along ![]() |

Fabio,
How long are you here for? The Wales GB event is the one to see as that is the famous last round of the FIA WRC. Often seen as the deciding round that saw World Champions crowned or lost. This used to be called the RAC Rally back in the days of Group B and went to see it a few times at spectator stages. Definitely worth seeing. On another topic, you are not far away from me. I'm west along the A30 in Exeter. PM me if you ever come this way and have a coffee and a chat ![]() |

Thank you for the info.
I would like to register to be a marshal but i have 2 children aged 7 and 4. And to be a marshal i would need to have a lot of time on my hands, no? Projectblue If you asking how long i am going to stay in this country then i don't think i'll be going anywhere anytime soon... And i would like to go to wales to see the rally. I do go down towards Exeter now and again and i would like to meet up for coffee. I'll send you a PM. Regards Fabio |
