Last weekend I needed access to my Puma's battery to help start an excavator in a friend's backyard.
The friend didn't believe I could get there with my Def, but driving to the excavator took less time than removing the sliding cover plate over the battery compartment. It was stuck hard and I needed pliers to get it out. I didn't put it back into place afterwards. Did anyone else have similar problems? How can I prevent this? Hans http://www.orlaya.fr |

They can get a bit sticky. How old is the vehicle?

Any chance of some photos of where exactly you have placed your anderson connectors please? Ive just fitted a set to the outside of my seat box, but the front bumper would be a more conveinient place for them. Did you need to fit any kind of weather/dirt proof coverings? Cheers |

If fitting an Anderson connector outside the vehicle I would suggest an isolation switch, a dust cover and a pvc boot over where the cables go into the connector.
Currently I am rewriting what I put HERE into a more informative form. However I do not have any photos of bumper/rear cross member mounted Anderson connectors. If anyone has such photos I could use I would be grateful. I have a photo of an Anderson connector placed in the wing top. Well away from the wet and gloop. Will dig that photo out later if anyone is interested. Brendan |

Not much to show really but on the near side of the bumper. What is spooky is that one of the men has just came in and asked if I could jump one of the forklifts. Took about two minutes. Cost very little to fit and took a Saturday morning to do it.

Sorry - off topic - but are those Nakatanenga driving/fog lamps you have in your bumper The Boy?
They are very neat, but tiny - do they pack any decent punch, or are they a bit like bright cruise lights? |

First four bumper 5 or 6mm with recovery points. Lights are not very good but I find they give a good sweep for the first 6-7m, good on tracks for low speed driving. The other lights do all the rest I need. I didn't buy it for the lights but for the strength and recovery points

It is Hans yes! Really is worth doing. I aways seem to be the one behind the guy on the ferry who has a flat battery and so can jump the vehicle in front and away we go. Don't forget (someone has already pointed this out) to put a cut off swtich on the live lead just for safety. ![]() |
