2007 Defender 90 Other CSW Trident Green

Is this possible! Can’t be! Can It!

Bit of a conundrum!

My project Vehicle which has a 200 TDi engine has over the last few days been underperforming. Seemed to be lacking power and today I thought I would call at Land Ranger service to ask advice. Anyway before I visited I called at Halfords and while there checked the oil, took out the dipstick and the oil level was fine, replaced the dip stick closed the bonnet and started her up and drove off. I immediately noticed a difference the engine was much more responsive and powerful so much so I did not bother calling at Land Ranger.

Now while I am not what you could say a mechanical expert or engine guru, I do know that removing and replacing a dipstick should not make any difference, was it just a coincidence or could this make a difference. Can’t be! Can It!

As I also used the cloth that I wiped the dip stick with to polish the dust off the air filter holder. I have been neglecting the project vehicle lately and have been mainly driving the Puma. Might now give it a wax and polish to show it how much I really care…

Sounds like removing the dipstick may have relieved a vacuum in the block. Check the breathers aren't blocked
