MY16 Double Cab Pick Up
Having enjoyed the 90 for almost a year I realised that the only thing missing for me was he extra row of seats. I didn't want to lose the load space so I started looking for a double cab to get the best of both worlds. Spoke to a few dealers who confirmed that Landrover are only building station wagons now so a new build is completely out of the question. Big Cry

Tried absolutely everything, including a wanted ad on here, but no luck with the spec I was looking for then out of the blue had a call from a dealer yesterday to say that they've found one in another dealership (not part of their group) & done a deal to swap one of the cars from their own stock. Bow down

So, in 10 days I will be the proud owner of a brand new Aintree green double cab 110 XS, & possibly the last double cab Defender ever to be registered! Don't think I've ever been so excited about a car & certainly shouldn't be at my age.

Due to collect from Harwoods at Edenbridge on 8th September then straight down to Chris in Billingshurst for the full Dinitrol treatment!

This is the first, and possibly only, time that I've bought a car without even seeing a picture of it!

As a side note, Harwoods have been brilliant. Cannot praise them highly enough at the moment.

dunno if its true or not ..

but I was told by a chap who, over many years, has sourced and fitted canopies for the Defender pickup:-

Some of this last year's production that he has seen have a different arrangement rear cab section - he has since discovered that LR are/were using up old panels from earlier versions ????

It has meant that his canopies do not now fit ALL pickups and has had to re-introduce an older version....

Dealer sent me a couple of images today. Due to collect on Tuesday (work permitting) & then straight to Chris (Zagato) for the full Dinitrol treatment.

I have to say, Harriet @ Harwoods Edenbridge has been absolutely amazing. Definitely worth talking to if you're looking for a Landrover.

Quick update. Had a few extras fitted, black chequers plate, steering protection bar, tow bar electrics & rear seat covers. The wheels, adjustable tow bar & front seat covers were swapped over from my old (MY15) 90.

To save me having to faff around with trains & stuff Harwoods are delivering her to Zagato today for the full Dinitrol treatment free of charge. Very impressed.

Hopefully picking up from Billingshurst at the weekend. If it all works out then I should be able to collect & then go straight on to the Goodwood Revival.

Anyway, here's a quick picture with the heavy duty wheels.....

This place is terrible.

If you'd have asked me a year ago if I'd have fancied a double cab pick up, I'd have said no.

A few posts of in-coming ones and I'm won over... 'tis a sickness, I tell you!

Looks great in Aintree and I'm green with jealously. Thumbs Up

VERY nice, especially with those HD wheels which I would not instinctively have chosen but look really super - can't wait to get a scruffy old set on my scruffy old 90 Wink
