Why is this on here and what is this noise .
l have been a Defender owner for 2 months and lm am enjoying every minute of it. There 2 things that l would like to know what they are for. Firstly why does the diesel gauge have orange band before the red one,?. The other is what is the spinning/rushing sound that comes from the passenger bulkhead?. They may be trivial but l would like to no. Hope you help.

The orange is an amber warning.....before red ! Ignore it and keep plenty of diesel in, it's healthier for the pump and filters..

The wooshing is the turbo, make sure the air filter cover is in place properly and the hoses all are seated properly...best to go to someone with a td5 already and ask for their opinion, it may just be normal and you're not used to it..

Enjoy the td5, best engine by far!!
As well as a v8 Cool
