Puma engine changes over the years....?
Has there been any changes to the Puma engines and gearbox since it came out...?

I never realised the Puma engine may be Gay...... 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

Do not know about the Engine itself (at least the EGR valve). I know the gearbox& components had some "improvements" (whatever that may mean for LR) Puma 110" SW

not really engine....
but didn't someone on here suggest the brakes had changed from bosch to somthing else and it was suggested to be a cheaper alternative?

just have a look on here, early models had Transit clutches which weren't up to the job,sticking piston cooling jets and the brake vac pump which is on its third version

so really don't buy an early one,unless all the recalls have been done.

after having a look under the bonnet of a 2011 MY it looks different in many areas but I'm not sure if thats my poor memory or not?

I am currently driving a brand new 60 plate Defender in white with white steel wheels with Michelin 7.50 Mud biased tyres. It does not have one accessory at all and compared to my 2007 90XS i have noticed these differences... it is much better on Diesel, the interior only has rubber mats and is therefore very noisy, the engine is a bit more lively. It has a wiper motor that is so noisy you tend to only swipe once in everything but a downpour. There is only a shiny loadspace area which is deadly on wet wellies and paws. It would snap your spine on pot holed roads and tracks. I like the new sidelights that also glow in the headlights. The road noise is worse on the 7.50 Michelins than my 265 BFG M/T's. The paint is absolutely flawless and looks deeper the the Stornaway of my own Defender. The panels are not as stressed as mine.
I like the pureness of the new one and it is maybe the way a Defender should be, do we really need all the carpets and fancy wheels? 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

erm..........Yes

call me an old softy but i like the soundproofing and all the gadgets.

having said that i quite fancy an SIII or 2A simply for that purity as a hobby and weekend fun.

the XS is for everyday use. Thumbs Up BM52
