Great tyre really rate them. Have done 34k on them and think it's about time to change. They are alright on the road for a mud tyre even in the rain. Pulled me all over the sites with chipper in tow. Only stuck once and that was because we sank down to the axles.
They are bloody noisy though, on hot days going round a corner sounds like there's no Tarmac left. The bfg at is still the best all rounder or the Goodyear duratrac. |

That's what I feared: My last Defender had STTs on and they were noisy,a bit like the old 7.50 x 16 SATs back in the day that droned on the road. I want this next one to be a lot more civilised.

Not The same noise as stt. Pretty loud at speed but really loud when giving the beans round a bend.
If you need them their worth it. |

I had some never again all the tread started to split open after about 20k 70/30 split off road on road.

Look the business, great for towing trailers of

Great tyre for standard off road requirements and towing with loads. You need to get a tyre pressure for towing right though
Not very quite on the tarmac but no mud tyres are  And yes hot tarmac makes them sing  well a loader din more like 
Most mud tyres I have tried over the years don't like being on tarmac all the time... This will cause splits etcetera! Not sure if you can hear the over the noise on a hot day on the tarmac 90 & Wolf

had oem fitted ones to my 110. at 77000km and they still have 7mm tread left lol.
good tyres in the mud and rain. Ok in the dry too. they do sing a bit but I just turn the radio up! |

I found them a bit noisy too, kind of an uneven hum, looks aren't everything!
If you want an alternative then go for Duratrac, I rate them very highly, quiet, snow rated, good road manners, kind of an in-between AT and MT, look great too

Personally I don't like them, I don't rate them for on road manners compared to a bfg mud and have also found them some what lacking compared to mfg mud off road too.

Personally I'd ignore the looks and stick with your all terrains, one of the best all round tyres made. Pretty good at everything really.

+1 for the BFG MT KM2 - I went for 255/85 - perfect size, not too wide, but they give you great clearance under the diffs.

I've got Goodyear wrangler MTR coming on my heritage. I must admit, I wanted AT,s as per my 110. The dealer said that the latest version of MTR is a little quieter, but I fear that's a little optimistic. This looks like land rovers tyre of choice for the last of the defenders. Be keen to learn of anyone's experience . Thanks
