Hi all,
I've been tidying up my recently purchased 300 Tdi (1998 hardtop) and come across a round connector underneath the centre seat. It's white and has a black cover over it. Any idea what this is for? Thanks. Andy |

Thanks but I think the EGR controller is the black rectangular box with a black rectangular connector. This comes through the centre seat box panel with the EGR ECU cable but is separate.

Yes, it's a creamy coloured round connector.
No central locking nor a security system. Bit of a mystery - I'll put a voltmeter on in tomorrow and see what we have. |

has it got abs ?
the early rover cars had a round socket about 40-50mm long and 20mm across with a back soft cap , the cap had a bit sticking out the end used as a handle to pull the cap off and a retaining ring to keep the cap attached to stop you losing it they were the early type of diagnostic/programming socket used before the oblong obd socket became standard on the early rover cars the round sockets were one function only so you could have 1 for engine , 1 for security , 1 for abs depending on what was fitted |

Thanks. That sounds like it. No ABS, or any other comforts come to mention it, so probably an early diagnostic socket as you suggest.
