Updating The Alpine HU Bluetooth

Hi

has anyone managed to get their 2015MY factory fit headunit updated to work fully with an iPhone. The Alpine website lists an firmware update to the Bluetooth on the HU that will allow it to control the iPhone without the USB cable.

But as you can see it states at the top that defender owners shouldn't do this due to Warranty etc.

Has anyone tired it... or got LR to apply an update? would make life easier to not have to plug in the iPhone to stream music.

Hi. Was just replying when you sent your update post. Just to say that I tried to update my MY15 alpine unit but ran into trouble with the software upload from my pc. Android is apparently the way to do it. Anyway the head unit was basically rendered useless on the Bluetooth function. I had a word with alpine UK and they fixed it for me free of charge. The unit is now at the latest SW level and is ok now.

ah thanks for the update, so looks like the HU its self is capable of taking the update, worth me investigating more then
