Bardenas back to Santander.
Any must do routes/ places to see?

Currently not too far from Alicante and soon to be heading back home. So currently planning the trip back.

Thoughts so far are, Valencia -> Zaragoza -> Bardenas Reales -> Pamplona -> Spanish/french border before Santander.

A great site found from here, Wikiloc found me a track only 15 mins away and so did this, this afternoon. Nothing too extreme on the map however found some unexpected and tricky descents/climbs on deep, rocky terrain.

Any pointers for me?

Couple of pics from the go pro/phone. Yet to sort through the camera.

If you have the time, take a look at Picos de Europa, about 1/2 hour south of Santandar.
Head for Potes, there are a few good camp sites there & hotels.
There is a great track goes from Espinama to Sotres.

What rout did you take through Bardenas?I'd like to have a look down there in a couple of months.
I'm looking at Vibraction RB5,that takes some of the Bardenas in.
Any recomendations would be great.

Our trip was more around visiting cities than pure off-road/ travel through tracks.

We left not too far from Alicante and travelled along the coast as far as Tarragona, then stopped in Zaragoza, diverted to Monasterio de Piedra before stopping in Tudela. We used this for the start of Bardenas before heading to Pamplona.

There is only the 1 route when inside the area as is strict on where can drive. Definitely a place to see and we were fortunate to see the Spanish military in flight. Never had a couple of jets literally flight by so low before doing several barrel rolls and banking away back into the clouds.

Will sort a few more pics out.

Wow you wouldn't have thought somewhere like that was in Europe.

I've driven Santander to Algerciras and it's a lot more dull, especially when raining

We are looking to head north over the pyrenees from zaragoza and would love to take in some of the areas you have ie the old cottage and those amazing rock formations.
Can you confirm where abouts they are?

Many thanks
