Hi All,
Today I have been playing with my camera (Gopro Hero 4 Black) on the 110, I was mounting it with a 'bar' mount on my gate rings as it was easy but i am looking for some inspiration as to where others have mounted them and what hardware has been used? I would also like a recommendation for a suction mount the cheap ones are rubbish and a bit risky. Cheers |

I mounted mine on the grab rail, benefits from usb power and windscreen wiper

I found that a little bit of the car in the shot makes a huge difference to the interest value, it's difficult to watch too much footage of just scenery coming towards the camera, in my opinion.
I found a couple of interesting locations: Firstly on the wing mirror facing forwards aver the wing, and also on the wing mirror facing backwards looking at a rear wheel, they make good little shots to break up a longer video. Also the typical rear mount underneath the car is cool, watching the car articulate over lumps & bumps And I generally try and get someone else I'm with to cooperate and let me mount it say on the back of their car while I follow, or the front of theirs while I lead 
All this I use a powerful grip type mount and my goPro 3 Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Agree with David, a bit of 'truck' in the shot helps keep things in perspective.
I've bought a few 'cheaper' suction mounts and had no issues with them. The best one has 3 smaller suction cups and have used it on the bottom of the front doors to get the shots of the wheel going through water and mud on Salisbury plain and an old LRE site with no issues at all. I've also used it on a Suzuki Hayabusa screen and the fairing of a Kawasaki ZZR1400 which provided me with footage that had to be deleted. To be safe I use fishing wire as a 'leash' to tie the GoPro on as well....just in case. I've suction cupped it to both inside and outside the wind screen, rear window, clamped to the roof rack, front bumper, swing away carrier etc. I'll have a look what make my triple suction cup is when I get home. Looking forward to getting some GoPro action in a Charmonix next month on the mountain bike!! Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful! |
