Ashcroft Transmissions and Dales Garage - Unbelievably Good

Had a slight hiccup recently on my 2014MY 90 Transfer Case. Needed it to be sorted urgently (couldn't wait for LR to lumber ponderously into action) so I spoke to Dave Ashcroft at Ashcroft Transmissions. This was at 5.15 in the afternoon. Within 30 minutes Dave had diagnosed the likely cause over the phone, spoken to Dale at Dales Garage in Markyate (an Ashcroft Fitment Centre) and had me booked in for the following morning.

I got the vehicle recovered from near Grimsby down to Dales arriving later that same evening. Dave Ashcroft had helpfully given me some phone numbers of nearby hotels but Luton Town FC were unhelpfully playing at home that night so I had to kip in the back of the 90. I removed the cubby box, bought a special deal package of duvet and pillow from Tesco's for £18 and got my nut down.

Next morning, despite clearly having a stinking dose of flu, Dale and his team swung into action, whipped out the transfer box, Ashcroft Transmissions collected it, stripped it and fixed it and took it back to Dale who put it back in. I was on my way again less than 24 hours from my initial call to Dave Ashcroft.

Unbelievable level of service from Ashcroft Transmissions, in fact I really can't recall anyone being so helpful in all my years of driving Land Rovers.

Great service but why did you not use warranty?

If vehicle is undriveable then will provide a replacement vehicle.

Dave is a top bloke. I had one of his auto boxes delivered last week and it is my planned job to fit it to my defender this weekend. He is always very helpful and does top quality kit. The only place I use for transmission parts.
