OK going slightly off topic and will quote

Quote:

IP rating, try to get better then minimum of IP67

Light output/range? Raw lumens, effective lumens or measured lumens? Most will quote raw lumens as this is is the highest figure but does not always translate to best light output on the ground.

Do you really need to see the poo coming out of a rabbits bottom at a distance of a mile?

Range of a mile is impressive but do you actually need it? At 60 mph that will take a minute to cover, is that range needed?

I would argue that most people would only need a maximum range of 200-300 yards.

Light output? Do you need max possible? Big light output hitting a reflective sign can mean a driver partially blinded by own lights

RAW Lumens is a theoretical figure and is the highest figure and is normally the only figure quoted on the cheaper and/or less good lights.

I had a trader last week who tried to tell me that one light was brighter then another as the actual RAW lumen number was larger then the actual MEASURED lumen output number of another light Banging Head Banging Head Banging Head

Please try and understand what the figures quoted mean.

All the actual LED manufacturers have different grades of actual LEDs and the price of the LED will depend on the grade/quality of the LED made.

Do you honestly think that the cheap unbranded/lesser known led lightbars use the top grade /more expensive LED's?

When the cheaper LED light bars quote a RAW Lumen output do you think that they are using the realistic lumen number for the actual grade of LED used or the best figure for the best grade of LED produced by Cree/Osram etc?

This conversation has drifted away from a search for a RI LED light bar

IP68 on the Eyourlife version Thumbs Up

"Luminous flux: Theoretical Lumens Output: 32400 LM,Operating Lumens Output: 21600 LM"

If only I knew what that meant!

The big difference I can see at first glance is in the sizing - the Rigid 50" is actually 54" long whilst the Eyourlife is 502 long including the end caps. So you do get more lens area in the Rigid.

Also, height and depth are hugely different:

Rigid Eyourlife
Height 7" 3.2"
Depth 7" 2.5"

Trying to understand the latter - are the rigid dimensions correct on that link posted above?

If anyone is at Donnington this coming weekend, UTV products will have a stand there with Lightbars up to 50" and id be more than happy to answer any queries you may have. It'll also give you a chance to compare various manufacturers lights across different stands.

Many thanks

Duncan.
