I had my original bumper swapped out under warranty just before the three year point. It was the finish that was poor and on the underside the coating could be peeled off in sheets. I decided to upgrade as the new bumper didn't look much better and went with a First Four heavy duty one. The prices are reasonable and the finish a great deal better than original.

If Landrover or their suppliers took the trouble to remove the sharp edges left by the Shearing processes and replaced them with a radiused smooth corners, the Powder Coating would last much longer. But that would cost labour and time, much too expensive, easier to just replace under warranty if the customer complains within the first 3 years, or afterwards its profit from new spares.
just had mine replaced under warranty, next time it will be a Heavy Duty unit from the aftermarket suppliers. NormanD WE191

I have asked this before...

Over all these years of rusting chassis etc etc, WHY haven't JLR changed to a galvanised chassis!!! Charge us £1,500 more for the car... Rolling Eyes

Grrrr! Twisted Evil

For longevity, I would pay that out in a heartbeat! Smile YOLO... You Only Live Once...

The car's now booked in with Zagato for a full anti corrosion job just after delivery. Should shorten the warranty parts swop list.
