Goodyear MTR on heritage
Guys, I noticed that the Heritage comes with Goodyear MTR. Not having previously owned a pure off road tyre, would these be suitable for someone with an 80-20 on road off road use? I'm feeling that I would prefer an all terrain.

I really like the goodyear mtr's on my 110- probably a little bit louder than an at pattern but grip well in the dry.

Probably good for about 25k miles a set imo.

I have the conti cross AT tyres on mine... And after driving an LRE 110 on the road, would probably go for the MTR if mine were to wear out. They look much more aggressive and Defender'ish.

Road noise wasn't noticable. I am a 90-10 on road user.

Found mine to be very good. Done 26k on them still loads of tread left. Not let be down yet. They are a little noisy, but it's a defender not a car.

I am going to ask if my Heritage can be fitted with the Continental AT's.

I had the Wrangler MTR's fitted on my 110 and they were so noisy on the road compared with the Conti's, so I had them swapped over! The Conti's are probably 90 percent as good as the MTR's off road but MUCH quieter on road... given that most of my driving is on road, that tyre choice was the only one for me.

I also think the Conti's are more 'traditional' in appearance... the MTR's just look too aggressive and out of place on what is supposed to be a 'Heritage Celebration' of HUE166! YOLO... You Only Live Once...

I have to confess, I am leaning towards requesting continental's for my Heritage. I have them on my 110 and have been impressed. Whilst not a car, I will use this landy mainly on the road so any noise reduction will be welcome.

Thanks all for your comments and help Thumbs Up

Not noticed any road noise from mine but I do wonder what the effect of them is on my mpg.
