Andrew, you must know your way around some tyres by now having had a few vehicles.

I guess the ST MAxx is worth waiting for then?

No idea TBH these were the only off road 18's that were available Thumbs Up

the stt comes in the same tyre size. im trying to chose between the st max and the stt. dont care about noise, have 285's on at the moment and the sound system seems to cope ok Very Happy

Arrived today and I can't fault them. Each wheel / tyre combo was wrapped in cardboard & bubble-wrap and then heat-shrunk, there was no-way these were getting damaged in transit! Placed the order at 0900 Thursday, delivered before mid-day on Friday plus I had a call about 20-minutes beforehand to say they would soon be arriving, full marks 4x4Tyres.
The ST Maxx is definitely a more open tyre than the BFG AT's they will replace, they are also taller and (slightly) wider despite both being 265/75x16. Each Anthracite Sawtooth is balanced and fitted with a black LR centre-cap as standard.

Hope to get them on sometime next week, will report then and perhaps post a couple of photos.

I suggest you try elsewhere, like I said 4x4Tyres have given me good service up to now. There was a long delay before the wheels were available (about 4-months!) but they kept me updated.
If you just want the tyres and are having them fitted locally then try Tyreleader, they are always the cheapest. ONE LIFE, GET IT!

Cooper ST Maxx in 265/75x16 as delivered from 4x4Tyres.

Worked out the cost of buying separately or as a package and there was nothing in it cost wise but for sheer ease it was the package that won (no hauling wheels & tyres down to the local garage).

Be interesting to see how you find them, I have only done 30-miles so far but already I am finding them a bit harsh.
I think they are a bit hard so I will play with the pressures over the next week or so. I had to do this with the BFG AT's as the stock pressures were way too high for my ultralight soft-top (I carry no additional weight) but after a while I got it right and they proved to be an outstanding tyre over many years. ONE LIFE, GET IT!
