Works without the trailer light yes, flash rate seems just a tad slower but nothing to complain about at all.
I prefer it actually.
By this I mean a very very slight difference.
Thumbs Up

Cheers Steve, I can't remember why now but I'm on my second flash unit, I think the one fitted at the moment is a Wipac, the first one that came supplied from BoltOnBits was very slow, it just seems that if I want it to flash at a decent rate then the trailer light illuminates and I just have to put up with it, there is no way around it really if you want people see if your indicating!
I'll count how many indications per minute (with the engine running) it does without the trailer light coming on if I get time tomorrow.

I got one that works good had it few years now on led lamps , flash rate looks right , trailer light on dash doesn't work but have fitted a buzzer ( which I prefer to the light on dash ) , also the Rdx one that works the trailer light on dash does not work with led trailer lights ( unless you fit resister ) and i have trailer led lights and can't really see the point of fitting a led lamp with a resister because your still putting the same load as a bulb on wiring , plug , switch etc

the one I got can take 160w so can use with bulbs or led lamps , I always carry a standard bulb lamp ( 1x indicator 1x side 1x stop/tail ) because if you get a led go out you can't just go and buy one easy when on holiday etc I can just swap for standard lamp

The trailer light is present though and should be used for purpose, having said that the buzzer does cover the legality side all the same.
I know the RDX relay says it won't work with trailer LED lights due to the power consumption being low or undetectable.
I'm currently running incandescent lights on my Ifor right now but as soon as I get an LED cluster unit I'll hook it up temporary on the earth and indicator and test it.
It will work for the actual indicator but the dash light is the issue, as it's finely adjustable I'm very interested if I can finely set it in a sweet spot where it can detect the difference between trailer on and off.
I reckon it might be possible but it's either bang or bust, depends on the LED trailer lights consumption too.
The indicators on the clusters I have in mind are 160mA / 0.16A where as an incandescent bulb would be 1.75A approx.
I'll give it a go one day anyway, if it doesn't work out resistors for the trailer will be the only option.
Yes, they use the same power or more but I prefer LED's the look of them and often the brightness too is better.
Probably be a while off until I try this though...
