Whats this weird blue grease
Went under the defender to fit a diff guard (front)

It has just had a new sump fitted with a service

Came out with a blue grease on my arm and back - just wondered what it could have been for cant see where it came from. Mike

Sure it's grease and not something like blue Hylomar sealant?

Hylomar stays like a sticky goo. Without knowing roughly where it came from it's a guessing game.

Sorry....... couldn't help myself Chalky! Smile

I've had a look under my 110 and can't see any blue grease or sealer, most of the sealers that I can see is black. Have you checked the rubber boots on your steering joints/ball joints mse? One of them could have split or detached itself, and who knows what sort of grease they are filled with??

Smurfs.......I Like it Rolling with laughter

I would suspect it's an anarobic sealant, which seals when there is lack of air, but remains liquid in the presence of air, or even Blue hermetite, which is semi hard. I expect it's round the diff flange.

Steve

Makes sense - the excess (there was a lot) does wonders to lubricate the gate Shocked Mike
