Fantastic Exclamation That has to be the best colour combination - white wheels and roof, keswick green and DCP.

Awesome.

Ken - Glyn figured out how to fix that guard with minimal loss of fluid: point it down a steep slope so all the fluid runs to the front. You only get a small drip then. I suppose if you don't have a steep driveway then a coupe of wheel ramps will do it. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

Yeah I tried it on ramps (and it was a bit more than a trickle) but how did you get the new studs in, mine foul on the handbrake?

I had to put the original bolts back in and top the transfer box up again (a job I hate). MAD COW

I think Glyn modified the bolts - had to take a few turns off IIRC. I've not fitted mine yet as I'll wait until I've fitted an X-brake. Also, I had a lot of issues with my diff guard which has the same issue with the bolts forming part of the seal. Mine still leaks slightly. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

I'm not bothered about the leak - the amount of fluid loss is absolutely minimal. I am, however, worried about what happens when it's nice and warm and I dunk it in a river. It'll suck up loads of water through the rubbish seal.

The secret is to really crank the bolts tight - there is very limited working space but with a sufficiently long extension bar and a lot of patience/swearing you can get it tighter. I still don't think I've got mine sealed Big Cry

P.s. how's the nipper doing? Ours is a superstar - much easier than the first Very Happy One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

Propshaft tool on the end of a battery ratchet should get them tight enough.

The southdown rear axle guard doesnt use the diff mounting bolts and avoids that problem. it uses the two threaded holes on the side of the diff. Cheers
