Hi Boglaster

I have the same issue but would describe it as more like a pinking noise on a petrol engine than a knock. Happens between 1500-2000rpm when driving but does not appear when revving engine when out of gear at a standstill. I assume it must be either something to do with the transmission/driveline or perhaps only when the engine is under load whilst accelerating. Maybe a fuel delivery issue?

Thumbs Up Thats right Cannonball, only under load, but not drive train related! Kicks in at 1750 ish and runs off at 2000.

Have spoken to my local LR dealer, am awaiting a call back. 2019 MY Disco 5 HSE Lux

Bogblaster I bet you a fiver they tell you its completly normal, characteristic of the Tdci motor Confused Land Rover's don't leak oil, they simply mark their territory!

Let us know what your LR dealer comes up with Bogblaster. I would agree with shorty.

Bogblaster / Cannonball,

Just found this thread. My 09 110 is doing the same with regards to knocking between 1500-2000rpm under load. Took a new 90 for a spin to compare, and it was much, much quieter. I am about to get a new clutch, so there is a possibility that it may be related.

Any news on your fix, if LR managed to fix it at all.

Mmm! Might be similar to an issue I have. Pinking noise after an upshift. Not always though. One of those annoying intermittent faults that never occurs when the dealer has the vehicle. My guess is it's engine management related. If the dealer ever sorts it out, I'll post the outcome. Don't hold your breath though!!!

I have the same noise when cold a knocking till its warmed up its a 10 plate also. I will need to get it looked at, And see if the local dealers will do anything about it, And they will look at it and say there is nothing wrong with it as they always do. 110 Utility puma 2.4 2010

I'll wager you get better service from your Fendt dealer.

Further to my knocking issue which a couple of you seem to have had. Turns out that Cannonball's (informed)guess was correct, at least in my case. A bolt in my fuel pump had come loose causing a high pressure fuel leak. Dealer has tightened up and it seems back to normal. It also seems to have cured a juddering I got when coming to a stop - almost as though I was going to stall.

Stafford landrover fixed mine with an ecu upgrade. Runs great now. Have got up to 7600 miles. The engine still does the odd strange thing. But on the whole is ok now.
