2.2 Defender 90 height
Strange request but does anyone who has a new 2.2 90 (ideally hard top although I'm sure they're the same as a csw) mind measuring the height from the floor to the roof above the tail door (that's the highest point) and posting it here? Would be a massive help as possibly about to hit a huge garage dilemma!

Many thanks

Hi, full details on page 50 of the below

http://www.landrover.com/content/gb/en/pdf/ebrochures/defender

That said, I had the same problem - lowered mine with the 2" kit to get it to fit only to find that the kit actually lowers it 1.5" at the back. A few pounds later I purchased a air compressor to lower the tyres to get it in and then pump it up when it's in!

All good fun

Just for a bit of variety, mine measures 2.02 at the highest point (rear edge of roofline).

This was the clincher for buying the new 90 as I'd previously been looking at 110's which measured 2.06 at the back and the entrance to our car port is 2.04.

Will have to pay close attention to tyre pressures and new tyre selection. Smile

this appears to be a common problem, at my last house I had an up and over door and still had 3-4 inches clear above the roof, this house with side hinged garage doors I had to remove the door stays from the frame and still only have about 1/2 inch clearance between door frame and roof, it was a consideration when moving but I measured both to be sure it would (just) fit DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

Just in case it helps, my 110 Hard Top (described in the official blurb as 2027mm high) was 2064mm high when delivered. To get it into the garage (with a door aperture 2034mm high), I had to let the back tyres down until they were almost flat. I'm glad I've got a compressor.

Joe - that's a relatively huge difference what wheel/tyre combo you running and have you checked the colour coding of the springs to see they've fitted the right ones?

Made a mental note to go check mine and see how accurate the brochure was.

Same problem here...
Only recently resolved with electric roller doors rather than conventional up-&-over; to gain any proper height I'd first need to remove the garage lintel for which I was quoted £400 per door.
Consequently, I now have 19cm gap above the rain gutter as on my 90 HT, I found that the back door wasn't my highist point due to a slightly sloping drive Shocked

I'm on the standard 5.5J steels and 7.50 x 16" Michelins. There was plenty of clearance with the tyres let down to about 5psi.

I've no idea about the springs, but as I only wanted to get the van into the garage once to rust proof it and sort out proper mudflaps and wheel arch liners, I'm not too bothered about whether it will fit in easily again (and now with its roof bars on, there's no chance anyway).

Your wheel/tyre selection will make a difference to the overall height.

In the MY14 brochure the height for all models is just quoted as 2,000mm - 2,182mm (78.7-86) with the comment "Vehicle height depends on tyre and suspension options".
