Puma Alarm Immobiliser
I've been laid up for a few weeks due to a busted Achilles tendon. Went to start-up the truck and both key fobs would not open the doors. Opened by manual key and the alarm went off. Could not stop the alarm with either fob. After much fob pressing and key turning the alarm ceased. Opened the door again but just heavy clicking from the engine compartment which eventually stopped. Then a text from Skytag to say that the battery had been disconnected. Battery dead flat, would hardly illuminate the interior light. Charged the battery, but now key fobs won't operate door locks/alarm and engine permanently immobilised. Engine will start and run for 1 second. Do I need to go through the EKA procedure? or any other ideas?

Should be just a simple matter of doing a re-sync on the fobs, on a Td5 and earlier just pop the battery out for 10 secs and then when in range press the lock button 4 or 5 times untill you get a response from the car. Wouldn't hurt to check up in your drivers manual for the re-sync procedure for yours.

JWL, thanks! I will try in the morning. Don't want to bring the neighbours running from their beds if the alarm goes off again!

No worries, I think most of us have found how loud the Defender alarm can be in the early hours, mine has the siren as well as the horn sounder and at 5am it doesn't go down well with the neighbours Whistle

I've heard the siren one before. It's ear piercingly loud. Shocked

JWL, thanks re-synchronised fobs as suggested. Now works ok! I thought that procedure was for re-sync after fob battery replacement. My lesson is not to let the Def battery drain flat when not used! Very Happy
