Single din cage defender 2008
I've followed all advice on here and just fitted an alpine stereo and new speakers....only thing is the cage the alpine came in won't fit in the "hole"....,
Sorry if this has been mentioned before....any ideas if I need a defender specific cage ? :

Have you taken out the metal brackets / pieces out each side. With a cage they shouldn't be there.
If they are gone it's a tight fit and should go in.
Or is it impossible? They should be universal 1 DIN in size.

It's the cage that doesn't fit the hole...the head unit fits in gone cage....seems the cage is just that too big for the hole the factory stereo came out of ??

Don't forget to carefully bend the tabs behind so the cage is locked into the dash.
When the HU goes in that'll then lock into the cage.
