I hae had the second largest installed now for about three weeks but have done little miles in this period. I do notice that it seems a little better in midrange in regard to power. I filled up to the brim again a few days ago and the mpg was 22, mostly short journeys and normally would return 22-23 mpg. There well may have been an inprovement but this might have been aborbed with more right foot movement. I am running the BAS tune and am going to do another half a tank with it but then I am going to put the standard tune in and run it with that. Once that is done I will go down to the next smallest. will report back.

Boy,

Why revert back to a standard tune at all? I miss my tune and the extra economy it afforded me! My MPG with the first two blanks gradually improved and peaked at a little over 31mpg normal driving! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Karlos only just catching up on the thred after a couple of very busy wks on the farm! i see you are still having flat spot trouble. the blanks will make no difference to this problem . you will find it is down to a failed ecu patch landrover put on last time and the tune is just exaggerating the problem ! the ecu needs pilot correcting. Right guys should this be corrected with the tune you get or should you just try and work this Censored out for yourself ?
IS this why Auto logic pulled their tune off the market ??????? NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY

Yes it is!!! "Misfiring under load!"

See the response I got page 3 on 8th June on this thread:

http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic3243-45.html

But you're not running on an Autologic remap? Pete from BAS should be able to advise in your situation with you running on one of his his maps! Maybe this discussion should be switched to the Autologic thread before the 'Usual Suspects' start chop flapping and gum bumping? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I refilled my tank today and it worked out at 20.5 mpg though I did give it a blast down the duel carrageway for a few miles yesterday (70 ish). Because this was so bad I didn't bother seeing what it would do on the standard tune but have today stepped down to the 16mm one. Hopefully I should now see an improvement like others have. Will report back.

Pilot correction / injector learning is not part of the read/write area of a remap which is why AL and BAS maps cant correct the LR proramming fault just by a map change.

From the cars ive seen and repaired and the people who have had theirs repaird again at the dealers only the dealer tool can correct this.

Ultimatly its not AL or BAS at fault because LR have failed to correctly program the ecu after a update, but as said by AL and my self without dealer tool correction to perfect a tune is very hard without lowering the overall power to try and maks a LR problem which we should not have to do.

Pete

Autologic have clearly stated that the faults experienced With their maps are due to an incompatability bought in with the Q068 update! Unless you are running on a pre Q068 file you may experience 2 issues - misfiring under load and/or the reintroduction of your speed limiter! They are trying to rectify this by 'running test files' and subsequently rewriting their software to get round the 'gremlin' introduced by Q068. Hope this makes sense! As explained and sent to be on the phone and by e-mail respectively!

Just done the first fill up the with the 16mm installed. MPG came out at 23.5 with is about normal or what I would expect it to do without it fitted considering the type of driving I was doing. I have now changed it back to standard tune and first thoughts are that it feels a lot smoother to drive and a little quieter. I will report back about mpg on the next fill up.

Just done the next fill up and with the standard tune and the 16mm plate in it returned 23.55 and I was taking it as easy as I could. I have yet to get it on a long motorway trip but as yet I do not see a saving in MPG. I will continue for a while witht he 16mm then step down again.
