I'm pretty loyal to TH Whites, as I live just down the road and have had several vehicles off of them over the years, and a ton of parts. first name terms with most of the staff there.
However, I've noticed a blue van in their carpark sometimes dropping off badly fitting parts, so be careful! insist on gen-you-whine parts. |

I live just down the road too! Surely a main dealer would only fit OEM parts? The warranty is void otherwise.

I don't know when they fit the parts... servicing or selling spares? I've seen the Bearmach van there too.

I would be most miffed if they fitted anything other than original LR parts. LR customer services would be getting a call if they did!

Ouch to those prices. Just to give you an idea of how much is going to be labour I'm giving mine its annual 'the works' soon. Thats engine oil + filter, fuel filter, air filter, diff oils, transfer box and gearbox oils. With a genuine part service kit from Paddocks and correct spec branded oils from a local motor factor the total parts cost is £ 142 and thats retail to Joe public prices. LR would be paying a hell of a lot less. Plus the satisfaction that its being done properly and carefully not by someone who has 5 more services to do before lunch.

I am with you mate on doing my own servicing. Once the warranty expires I will do it myself less software updates.

Even if other dealers did want to be part of it, don't you think it's a bit of a ![]() When I think of price matching I think more along the lines of trying to persuade John Lewis to price match Currys by showing them the price online, not wasting the time of a (probably small) business with no intention of using them. |

Independant in Chippenham wouldnt service mine or I would have given him the business. He didn't have the equipment needed to conduct any software updates.
