noisy fuel pump
I had all the symptoms of a failed injector loom ( lumpy running, oil at the ecu, missing at high revs) and changed it yesterday for a new one and engine running much better. Very Happy
Then tonight while driving I started to hear a high pitched buzzing noise. Sad On checking, its coming from the fuel tank so do I need a new fuel pump? Is it about to expire? Is it just a coincidence I changed the loom yesterday.
The engines still running well.

Could be sucking air in through the FPR or injector seals and washers

If it is the puma, as you know it's submerged in the tank. Quite a few td5'ers have cut an access panel in the boot floor saves dropping the tank

I'm hoping it's injector seals as that would be much cheaper. Is there any guides to show how it's done?

Unlikely to be injector seals IMHO - but they are easy enough to do if you need to.

I had this problem on a previous vehicle - I changed the fuel pump at considerable expense but the issue remained. I then changed the fuel filter and it was sorted. Lesson - change the cheap and easy stuff first, even if they are not the most probable cause! My blog - www.anacreinhampshire.blogspot.co.uk

Apart from the noise am I going to cause any more damage by continuing to drive until I get it fixed. Engine seems to be running fine.

It's perfectly OK to drive with a noisy pump.
Won't do any harm and is unlikely to breakdown.
If it is injector seals they will be prone to breakdowns.

Thanks. I'll try the injector seals and fuel filter first and let you know how I get on.
