Is your double CV shaft off of a discovery? or it a heavier duty aftermarket one?

If it's a discovery shaft... then the extra weight of it cannot be the problem, as the discovery Td5 uses the same transfer box as the defender, with the same bearings in it!!

If it's an aftermarket HD shaft, then yes, maybe they could "claim" this (although we all know it's BS)... i have an equippe shaft at home, and it is mightily BIG! but has never knocked out front bearings though. and certainly not affected the center differential.

I also concur with dgardel & harveyg77, the power will take the path of least resistance. if you remove the rear propshaft, disengage the difflock but apply the handbrake, the front shaft will spin 2x the road speed! doesn't mean there's a 60/40 split in power though. (only 50/50 when the diff is locked)
