I have looked at line x from a guy not far from Swansea, he was talking more around the £350 for the back of the 110. I know someone who had it done on there l200 it's super stuff and defiantly going to be done at some time.

Why don't you have a go yourself if your fairly practical and save a load of money aswell? I'd agree the line x is good stuff, but is basically just fibreglass flow coat that I use on boat decks and inside as a hard wearing coating. Despite they'd tell you its weaker its simple to roll on and wont chip even when hit with a hammer. The other option is marine steel boat deck paint.
Only reason for this is although the finish might not be as good, realistically you'll scuff the inside whatever you use so I wouldn't pay to have the inside done, if you can spare a day one weekend you can do it easily for about £50 in flow coat to a nice standard. Might be worth looking up before you go down the professional route as I can see spending the money if having the car done but seems an overkill for a sankey? Sailing Tom, et all
Thanks for the post, I've spoke to a mate who is a laminator for a rather plush powerboat company in Poole. He's going to give me a hand with some flow coat. At £50 for the tub, it's far more affordable and will take the knocks as you say. Still comes out at £320 for Line-x (best rate so far) even with a bit of military discount. So I could paint it our 6 times over before it out costs line-x. Thanks again for the heads up! ![]() |

Hi THF,
For the sake of correctness LINE-X is a Polyeurea Hybrid and is in no way a fibreglass flow coat. Its a Completely different product!! cheers Jez |

Yes sorry that is correct having researched it further.
However still does the same job just as well for a fraction of the cost and works on the same basic principle if your prepared to do it yourself. Cheers Tom ![]() |

Hi Tom,
Sorry, looking back at my post it looks like I'm a know it all!! But I know a fair bit about Line-x hence my post. The linex is more expensive but it is a purpose designed product. Also it's about 3 hours in prep before it's coated which is a lot of the cost. It's a lot harder wearing than flow coat and is a neater finish. It's like saying a mini is as good as a rolls royce as they can both do 30 mph! Where in the country are you? |

Hi Jez no not at all your right think what i was meaning to say is a little out of context as was only referring to a sankey trailer for the op so to go down a cheaper equally usable route for him, like you rightly point out and i said myself in my first post it would be different if it was the car load bay rather than a used trailer ![]() Im on Mersea Island in Essex, home of the Native oyster ![]() |

It looks like you’ve made your decision. If it helps though, I had speedliner applied to my Hilux which is used for supplying logs and general duties. It’s had hundreds of cubic metres of logs chucked into the back of it and not one blemish to the liner.
It’s now pretty dented and I really don’t look after it (the tub that is) but the speedliner looks like it did on day one, very impressed. Nick 2.2 110 Tipper |
