I'm on a paltry 0.5Mbps down and 0.3 up. YouTube - unusable. Picture heavy websites - go and make a cup of tea jobbie. It's like being back in the 90s
![]() Basic (non-MAX) ADSL, non-LLU'd exchange serving 50-100 properties which is only actually a mile or two away but the quality of the line to my house (no cabinet) is so poor that I get that paltry speed. And if there is the slightest wind it drops out constantly making the internet unusable, though to be fair that has only happened since some trees laid down over the line during the winter storms. And all this for the same money I paid for 6Mbps at the last house - bargain! ![]() And to top it all my brother sat on my settee the other day and got 8Mbps through 3G on his phone. Madness. |

Recently I was getting 5mb down and 900kb up now its more like 3mb down and 900kb up. But looking up websites can take an age, its like the DNS lookups are taking ages to resolve.
Could speak to my ISP but its hard work with their scripted call centre. Try a spare router, try another socket, try another filter, try shorted router to BT socket cable, reboot router etc. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

If you remove the cover on the master telephone socket you will find another socket (test socket),plug yer modem into that see if the speed improves, can sometimes be a dodgy socket causing slow speeds. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Rural for me too, 0.8-1.0 down at best and about 0.3 up. On the plus side you can chew the air at the moment with what's going on the fields...
