Had an idea that zip ties might be easier for the seats.
Cut the Hogrings to remove, then on refit use Zip ties Still got Pass Front backrest to cover so will try it and report back |

Great thread, and really useful! Thanks.
One question - why are all the seatbacks on the rear seat different in terms of the panelling? I can understand the centre being a different pattern, but why are the outers so different (six panels on the o/s, 3 panels on the n/s, and one panel on the centre)?

I didn't know the seatbacks were different until I installed them.
They are both Gen LR parts but I don't know why, maybe why I got them on the cheap. EDIT: Different MY on the XS had a change at some point, I have both Last edited by Tiger on 7th Mar 2014 2:22pm. Edited 1 time in total |

What type of material is that, surely not Alcantara?

No, it's nothing like alcantara.
More like a massive sheet of Fuzzy Felt |

Sod's muther cooking law!!
So after battling with bar steward f-ing hog rings retiming every seat I did the last one tonight, just the back of a front was left. I had a thought that rather than carefully bending each hogging out and than reshaping it ready to be re-used I could try zip ties So I did, and they work soooo much better they are easier faster better!! And to get the old covers off you can just use side cutters to clip the old rings off Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge What a muppet! |
