Thank you I am glad some feels my pain. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

1.12 down
0.37 up The downside of a rural location. In 2 years we are supposed to get fibre under the government rural broadband scheme ..... It'll blow my mind |

1.3 down, 0.24 up
Another rural location. Plus it's a 5 mile journey to get any mobile phone signal. And another 5 miles again to get 3g |

Well at least in rural locations the birds sing instead of coughing.
Us townies used to love to go away to the countryside for a holiday/weekend break, to get away from the mobile phone and tinternet . Now what are we going to do ? I can remember having to walk 5 miles in the rain to find a phone. Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

2 months ago I was barely getting 1mb, after a bit of personal views to BT I was hitting 12mb now we're back to barely 1mb again plus the home hub keep dropping out. Another round of phonecalls again methinks.

Downstairs I get no mobile signal - in re attic I must clear the trees and get a good line - because on 3G I get 16mb. So I'd be better getting mobile broadband for the house with the router up in the attic .... other than it being a lot more expensive than the landline.

That's exactly what I get, except with a ping of 7. I'm with Virgin, on the outskirts of SE London. I'm sue a speed increase to 100mpbs in the next few months due to network improvements (or something). |

I'm in close proximity to the local exchange so all good there!
I live in a rural location with not many people on the exchange so contention is no issue! Sounds good doesn't it? Last exchange upgrade was in 2006 to ADSL Max. There is no LLU available either. So although I'm getting the best of what I've got, I'll never get anything better than my 8Mb down, which isn't really an issue, however, 448kbs is my upload. You can imagine what it's like uploading any photos or videos. It also doesn't appear on BT's fibre rollout plan in the next 5 years........ However, on a more positive note, I work in the Telecoms arena and look after my works very fast internet connection which has 100mb down and 100mb up, which in real terms is much faster than any home 21cn network. I'm running a Netgear router too, it's very new only had it just before Christmas. That has increased my sped anyway which the old BT one was ancient anyway.
Now I've got iTunes issues now which are a pain in the ass with their latest update. I've lost all my music now except for left on my iPod and iPad. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧 |
