2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey

ABS modulator

For the first 21 months of ownership there has generally been a short "grating noise" emanating from under the driver's RH dash area on start up. Sometimes wouldn't happen though. Told it was normal and coming from the ABS modulator. Since returning from Oz a couple pf weeks ago it has not happened once. Anyone any ideas?

mine has a on and off vibrating brake pedal. Our friends here in this forum advised me that the culprit is the ABS Modulator and had it replaced so far no more vibrating pedal now.

Unusually bright and sunny Grockle thanks! Just finished planting a few spuds. Just to clarify the point, should the grating noise be there at every start up? It has been conspicuous by its absence over the last three weeks so not sure if it means there is a problem now it does not occur.
