Another bad reverse-parking event in Munich today (wife wasn't around to be my "sensor")
So now I'm seriously looking at parking cameras (I've tried fitting sensors before but never with success (NAS rearstep + hitch etc.). Anyone got first-hand experience of a decent (up to 300 quid) camera? I have an iPhone and iPod up front for navigation so anything compatible would be a bonus. I installed this set from Ebay (just under 100).
One camera at the rear at the roof, and one just under the A-bar in the front. Very helpfull when parking in tight spaces. Cheers - how long has it been running? (my sensors died after a year)
TBH I just need one at the rear - I heard somewhere that some are "iPhone compatible" (no idea what that means). Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Nearly 2 years now. I am very pleased with it. It works very good, very good images, and you can switch between camera's with a button on the screen. There is also an extra audio and video input for e.g. dvd player. Cheers, Vincent

You can get a bullet cam for less than 60 which fits perfectly into the large round hole in the rear cross member

Thanks - very smart - problem is my NAS rear step comes just below that hole and would obscure the view.
However, you're right that it would be good to mount it around there, as the spare wheel prevents it "seeing" properly if mounted higher up (e.g. near the roof). On the other hand, I already have the electrics up there in the top-left corner (permanent +12V) and at least I could see 1/2 the back (okay for cars but with a blind spot for pillars). The only bit of my 110 I hate is the bloody awkward back... Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Okay - I've gone for this one:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Digitales-Auto-Funk...3382f26392 The monitor should just fit between the TomTom cradles - would be nice if the camera can be turned on/off from the monitor, otherwise I'll just fit a voltage detector. I have a garmin dezl750 satnav, it comes with a camera input and auto switching display (7" display) so i bought a camera on ebay for about 15 works a treat and has the yellow / red grid displayed. trouble is the garmin was about 350 .. the camera is going to be wired into the reversing light feed for power (I have LED reversing lights so should not be a power issue)
