We were out for one last trip at the weekend. The Peaks was the most central point for us all although I've gone right off the place with the amount of sour faces you drive past. I mean we wave and smile to everyone, split into smaller groups and drive respectfully and we still cop flack.
Anyway, I started editing the footage to make a short film and the camera from the lead car showed what I thought was a brilliant drivers eye view of the Hollinsclough lane, which I think is the toughest lane left in the Peaks. It gives you a real feel for the lane and I thought made an interesting film. Check out my YouTube channel for green laning and Land Rover "how to" videos. |

Great film
![]() As you say, sadly the Peaks is not a patch on what it used to be, so many good lanes now gone, and the rest are full of miserable ramblers and mountain bikers. I now tend to only go green laning when its ![]() 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy |

Most of the bikers we ran into seemed fine. We had a chat and a laugh with a few. It was the walkers and the horse riders who needed a good slap!
We all thought the lane had got tougher from this time last year. That step in seems steeper and the climb out had more tricky sections. As I said, Clyde drove that perfectly but the rest of us had to fight it a bit more! ![]() |
