300 Tdi ECU?
Hi all,

Had a bit of a bizarre afternoon! Was crawling about under my 90, and came across what appears to be an ECU. It's a very late '97 300 Tdi, but I wasn't aware that they had an ECU? Anybody able to shed any light on this?

Regards
Pete

(Ps: I've done a nut and bolt restoration on my 90, and never gave it a second thought! Shows how much I pay attention Embarassed ) An engine to TDi for!

Was it located under the cubby? That's the EGR ECU. Cheers, Vincent

Mine is probably not more than a year yunger than yours if that and the only ecu I have is for the egr. Mine is skrewed to the bottom of the centre seat but the harness runs from under the acsess panel so it could well be yours has dropped down. Possibly. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Martin- I did wonder what it was at first from a distance! A black box hanging from the underside of my vehicle, not suspicious at all Shocked

Thanks all, I'm assuming it must be the EGR ECU then, and has been misplaced during my rebuild! Bow down An engine to TDi for!

I had the same on mine, it's now in the bin along with the EGR valve, have you taken your EGR valve off yet? it makes a lot of difference
