Well yeah, it more shows how good a job the bumper did but new bumper, new plate, grill and grill surround, that were all aftermarket stuff. That's a good £700 worth of stuff and not to be sniffed at!

Just wonderng where the bumper failed for the A bar to be forced back into the grill? Did it rotate around the chassis bolts or higher up?

Aslo, did the A bar contribute to some of the damage or not?

Interesting. I'm not sure. I think it was the chassis bolts. The actual grill has popped back into shape. Its the grill surround that's had it!

The A bar possibly contributed to that damage but the winch plate force the tow hitch from the Pinz upwards so also possibly prevented it fro pushing through the grill Check out my YouTube channel for green laning and Land Rover "how to" videos.

Shocked Wow Shocked Just incredible. That means that if a European has an accident with a UK registered car anywhere in Europe, it is unavoidable to call the police to write up an accident statement (PV). Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
And here in Switzerland, if the police is called in to write a PV, they will be able to determine who is at fault, and it is mandatory by law that they write an expensive ticket for the party who caused the accident Mr. Green .
Being able to arrange this administration with the EU standardized forms between the two parties and without police, avoids such fine.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

So I’ve been really lucky with this issue. The guy responsible eventually paid me about half the cost of the damage but then First Four off-road saw this video and have very kindly offered to help me out with a new bumper. After the original one protected me so well I’d be a fool not to take them up on that.

The original one has in the meantime been fixed to a large extent and I’ve put it on ebay today, in case anyone is interested.

All’s well that’s ends well I guess. Didn’t think my videos would ever get me this kind of result.

It’s fair to say that during the process of getting the car sorted I was a bit frustrated with the people involved. Especially when I discovered my on-board cameras had captured audio suggesting he perhaps shouldn’t have been driving. Anyway, just to amuse myself I made this little follow up film poking fun at them!

I know I shouldn’t but it made me chuckle.

Made me chuckle when I put it together and boy did I need the stress relief at that stage! Hopefully the Pinz boys will see the funny side but probably not! Check out my YouTube channel for green laning and Land Rover "how to" videos.

You have a legitimate claim against the other vehicle's insurance company, and video footage to demonstrate culpability. In fact, it is a reportable collision so should have been reported to a local police station as soon as practicable, and in any case within 24 hours.

Any further q's then do PM me - I deal with this stuff every day at work...

As I recall fella, if no one was injured then it is a , Non Reportable Damage Only Accident the only requirement being that details exchanged. This is unless accident reporting regs have changed recently. Also, a moot point now it has been sorted but unless there is additional video footage we haven't seen, there is no usuable video evidence of even the Pinzguar hitting the 110. You see the shadow and the 110 recoiling from the impact but without even seeing the other vehicle let alone the driver. If it HAD gone to court then this footage would not have held much sway to be honest.

No offence intended,

Best,

Steve Thumbs Up

Yeah all I have is footage shot from the Pinzgauer looking forwards. It contains enough audio I think to incriminate but not enough to stand up in court!!

Anyway, had a happy ending to it all now. Take a look at this. Amazing the power of film! Very Happy
