Valet mode locks out the nav, radio etc. It doesn't change the way the vehicles drive.

You're possibly thinking of transport mode which is how all new vehicles (including Defender) are delivered to us. This limits the speed until they have been PDI'ed.

That might be it - read it somewhere recently but info didn't fully sink in and now can't find original link...

or it might have been on a Lotus forum where a guy posted about having an Emerald ecu with 3 way switchable mapping. One map was limited revs...

I didn’t know that top speed could be so easily limited, so why aren’t UK vehicles limited to 70 mph? It’s illegal to drive above that speed, how come manufacturers are allowed to sell something capable of being used illegally?

The “emergency” requirement (“to accelerate away from danger”) isn’t applicable, I’m talking purely top speed…
