Headlining sag prevention measures
There is a slight sag in my headlining especially the rear more noticeably. I am wondering if I and perhaps others are missing a trick though, I notice often people simply change head linings at great cost.
So hear is my idea and I'm interested to know others thoughts....
I notice there is both in the front and the rear section of the roof what appears to be a hollow section of ribbing for roof support. How about if this was drilled (very carefully!) to a diameter hole size of the head lining clips on the extremity of the head lining. Then simply using a couple of the head lining clips to hold the centre in place, shouldn't hardly be noticed I wouldn't imagine either.
Thoughts?

Why not just glue it.

If you glue it just in spots should still be easy to remove.

True, but does make me wonder if it would hold. I assume you have done it? _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___

I did it (glueing spots) with my one of my other cars (Suzuki Samurai - great little 4x4 Smile ), it worked but not for very long.
If you want to do it good, you have to remove the headlining, remove the cloth, clean and glue new cloth on it. That's what I did with the 110. Thumbs Up Cheers, Vincent

It annoys me to think I have rear ladder fixings on one side and not the other. Rolling Eyes Laughing _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___

The rear headlining on my last 90 had started to sag and I was going to put a self tapping screw through the interior light in the back into that rib to take out the sag.

Never got chance to do this because the vehicle was lifted from my drive in the middle of the night.

The best way to prevent it Steve is what I've done at the moment... Take the headlining out all together, and leave it out Rolling with laughter An engine to TDi for!
