T-Max high output 12v compressors.
Anyone own one of these? They go for around £86 on Flea bay,
Devon 4 x 4 do them as we'll? Wondering if they're worth the money for occasional use topping up tyres. Don't want to spend a fortune but don't want to buy rubbish either. Don't want to spend more than about £100, I know the Viair is good kit but too spendy for me! Any opinions greatly received. Johnnyb0

Had one for ages and always carry it in the Defender. Good bit of kit. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.

I was going to buy the bush ranger automatic compressor but D44 did not have any at the time (and they are about £300) the specification of the T-Max is very similar and 1/3 of the price, Stored in a neat holdall bag.

Without checking, think they are now single cylinder units, ??

I have one of the last type for that price which were twin cyl ones,
Been very good, will inflater a big simex tyre that has popped off a rim !!

Only problem, the plastic clips on the bag have long bust !! California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

The heavy duty version is available in eBay for just over £60. Might place an order is they're any good. Handy to keep in car.

I got one off e-bay, single cylinder, works very well, seems good quality/performance for the price.

Review of T Max against some of the competition here from LRO TV:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yWzDeLbYDU

except it's not really a review in the same sense as the Americans do one:

http://www.expeditionportal.com/resources/...-test.html

Also, in looking there appears to be several different variants of the T Max with different wattage motors - the HD one seems to be better suited to a 4x4 with large tyres.

I have the single one and it works very well. I have now made it a permanent installation in the rear of the 110 with a plumbed in pcl coupling and a small air receiver to run the air locker in the rear axle. Works great. Better than the ARB ones which are twice the price.
