Electric Window Problem - or just OCD...
Been having a great time Rolling Eyes doing Dinitrol in instalments and now just about finished Smile

Did the front doors and bulkhead today and just decided to play with the windows etc and make sure that everything still worked ok... (I only took off the left door card and then decided to spray up the drain holes as per Zags guide.)

Now maybe it always did this and I never noticed but as the front left window goes down it reaches about a third or so to go and gives a little 'bump' in the motion, seems to slow a little too. Goes up smoothly no probs. Other side up and down smooth as you like. Does anybody else have anything like that? I can't see how I might have messed up putting the card back on but any things possible... However, it is working so I don't want to take it apart again if its just one of those things - any ideas anybody please? 2011 Defender 90 SW

That's what my passenger one does, tried fiddling with it, it made it worse, so put it back as it was. It's all to do with the mechanism. Personally I'd say don't worry leave it alone.

Try lubing the window tracks with silicon spray, GT85,Mr Sheen, etc. Don't use WD40 it's harmful to certain rubbers and collects dirt.

Thanks jimbob7 Thumbs Up . I will give it a go next time I'm brave enough to get the door card off - or if it gets worse.

Don't need to remove door cards, open window and spray lube down the glass tracks.

@ jimbob7. Just sprayed a little bit of ACF50 in the tracks after checking it was rubber safe. Window glides up and down nice and smoothly now Very Happy

Thanks for the simple tip Thumbs Up 2011 Defender 90 SW
