It depend on the temperature and humidity, I was told to leave mine 14 days before rubbing it down for a second coat, this would give it time to go hard. Don't make old people mad.

What type of paint are you using? Water based, synthetic, cellulose or 2k?

Assuming you are just letting it 'air dry' I would leave it at least a couple of weeks based on the current weather. It won't do any harm to leave it longer, but do it too soon and you are going to wreck your paint.

Thanks very much for your replies. Had an email back from the manufacturer of the clearcoat today and they have told me to wait two weeks for it to harden - which I will do. Thanks again Dave |
