Washer Jets
Hi. advise appreciated please

TD5 windscreen washer jet not delivering to windscreen. The pump is making the desired noise and I have taken the jet (thingy Razz ) off just in case it is blocked. So no water coming through, any help on what to check next appreciated. I have tried to track the journey of the plastic tube but that aint that easy.

Anyway, any tips appreciated, SS Sweatysock

Obvious one first. There is water in the reservoir? Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Is there any evidence of water underneath the vehicle when you operate it? If not take the outlet pipe off as close as you can to the pump to see if the pump is still delivering pressure, if not the pump may be knackered. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

There may be a split in the hose? Or maybe a blockage in the Non-Return valve situated near the washer bottle on the hose? An engine to TDi for!

Yes if impellor is sheared or detached motor will still turn but produce no pressure in the system. Thumbs Up

Same if you've a split/detached feed pipe the water should run out under the vehicle somewhere. Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I had the same thing on my TD5, turned out to be a little non return valve just before the pipes disappear into the bulkhead, I removed it and drilled right through it and refit, been perfect eve rsince Thumbs Up Optimists say the glass is half full..
Pessimists say the glass is half empty..
Engineers say the glass is twice the size it needs to be!

By way of an update. Established no blockages from investigating tubing I could locate, in particular behind bulkhead. Given truck is newly purchased, decided to take back to garage rather than strip anything down to look further.

Garage (MM 4x4 near Worcester) have been great to deal with (moved from my previous local preferred garage due to some issues...no more said Twisted Evil ) and could not have been more pleased with their reaction to this, albeit, minor issue.

Anyone else had experience from them ? SS Sweatysock

MM 4x4 have always been great for me when buying parts, although I've never used them for servicing (too far away Laughing ) Thumbs Up An engine to TDi for!
