I am not sure. The truck had done 56,000 when I brought it and its now done 59,000 and has rattled since I had it. The Pads front and back look quite thick so I don,t think they are original. It could be that who ever did the pads did not put a dad or copper grease on them or fitted the shims wrong.
I plan to pull them apart for a look, but wanted some suggestions first. Tony 2008 Defender 110 XS CSW Volvo XC40 Recharge Triumph T120 BMW R1300GS G0UBX |

It'd be worth doing a search but I remember at least one person solving it by putting a blob of weld on the back of the pads, which seemed a bit extreme to me

It could be that they just need lubing up on the parts required such as the pins. It may also not be helped by perhaps* thy are cheap aftermarket pads which don't have anti-rattle shims. I've got a set bought just the other day EBC Green stuff and they have anti rattle shims. Will post a photo if it helps? ___\âï¸Lone|Star|State/___

Are you sure its the pads that are rattling and not the brake shields? --

Slightly OT but do the EBC Green stuff pads give a better 'bite' when braking?
Now I have converted to auto I am finding the brakes a tad weak at times due to more use of brakes on hills etc and in traffic BM52 |

I had the same rattle / clunk. I changed the pads for the latest LR version with no further problems.

Thanks for all the replies, I am as sure as I can be that its one or more of the Pads, the rattle is on bumpy roads and seems to stop when braking, no more rattle with the brake pedal pressed.
I will investigate the cost of genuine Landrover replacements as done nidge n I think. Thanks again to all for the replies. Tony 2008 Defender 110 XS CSW Volvo XC40 Recharge Triumph T120 BMW R1300GS G0UBX |

Around £118 there about's for a full set all in on a 90. I have found with my current pads (soon to be changed) that they are making the more regular squeak or noise as they have got older and reduced life. A progressive age thing really. Just seems to get worse not better. ___\âï¸Lone|Star|State/___
