I know this has been asked, I was just about to buy an ARB 47 and it was suggested to me that I should look at an Indel B TB45.
Multi voltage, quite robust and good value.
Has anyone had any experience of these and how do they rate against ARB etc...??

I've heard the ARB is quoted good but never heard of the Indel.

I did a lot of research before deciding to buy an Engel fridge from Martin at MPS - had it for 6 years and its been fantastic. John

A few facts on the three fridges

Indel B TB45 Fridge Freezer Volume 40.5 litres Power consumption 12V - 2.5 amps average running current Low voltage cut out included. External size 520 x 481 x 470 mm L x W x H

ENGEL MT45 40LTR Fridge Freezer Volume 40 litres Power consumption 12 V Average current consumption 1.4A. Battery monitor is a separate accessory. External size W631 x D360 x H508mm.

ARB 47 Fridge Freezer Volume 47 litres Power consumption 0.87 amps/hour* In built battery monitor External size H508mm x W380mm x D705mm
*Average power consumption tested at 3°C
cabinet temperature, 26°C-31°C ambient

and supply voltage of 12V DC

We have used both the Engel MT45 and ARB 47 litre fridges extensively.

We bought our ARB 47L fridge (not a cool box - they are something completely different!) from Brendan. Thumbs Up

I chose it over the Engel mainly on general design features - particularly the internal layout and the way the lid lifts up and with a twist comes off if required for easier access. I also preferred the plastic casing of the ARB rather than metal of the Engel - a bit more rounded and smooth edges.

We have it working on an aux battery and it will last 2 days or more without starting the vehicle - a little less if we have other things running at the same time like TV, awning lights and phone chargers.

Not been able to test in hot weather yet as we haven't had any since I got it! Rolling Eyes

Whatever, we are very pleased with it so far. Our blog - http://landytravels.com/

Pam W I can happily confirm that the ARB47l quite happily maintains any temp you require even when the outside temp is 55C. They are an excellent piece of kit and I also would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

I have an engel 45 with a split charge system. I was parked up at lake Garda for 3 days about 30-35 degrees outside, ran chargers the engel and some led lights at night inside the vehicle and inside the awning and tent. Credit goes to the battery I was using, but it was a lesuire battery from go outdoors for £40, not a £200 bells and whistles battery. The battery was in the defender for the 2.5 years I owned the defender and again the engel continued to be fine being left 48-72 hrs without the engine being run.

Gives you an idea on the power draw of a fridge.

Saw one of these - indel B TB2001 - in a Defender at the weekend - was a very tidy install between the front seats in place of a cubby box:
