Whilst both very correct (although i would choose standard hammerite in there (external and clamps done waxoyl) and the second battery is a little down the line after the last finance hammering!

No i was thinking more concerning factory fitted bit - the clamp that holds the battery down!!

thats 3 factory missing bits! - unless anyone tells me there is a new way of clamping it down. Mike

Is it loose then?

IIRC does it not clamp on the lip on the bottom of the battery and not over the top like the old ones?

BTW I personally gave up using using Smoothrite yonks ago, it's too brittle and liable to chip.

Hammerite is great stuff - ive used it for loads works really well - but application is key (ish). Mike
