Hi Steve E, the bubbling paint work was an inch above the hinge and between the rubber and window frame edge on the NS. They removed the glass and fitted new rubber seal, with silicone grease as if they had used sealant it would have been impossible to remove glass without breaking it if required in the future. I'm happy. LANDYWATCH

The underplaying hinge problems must lay with the hinges/brackets themselves rather than with the spray paint job that LR did on the production line.

The reason I say this is because 2-3 years ago I bought brand new genuine brackets and had them sprayed by a good spray shop when they the resprayed my 300tdi, and already they are showing signs of bubbling. It's as if they are made of a metal that just doesn't like paint?
