Power Steering weak (non Puma)
Hi

Need a bit of advice please - power steering has been gently seeping oil for the last 5 or 6 years and a top has kept it in good order so no problem with it.

This time I went to top up and having left it a while it was quite low on oil and steering very heavy.

After top up, its a lot better but still seems 'heavy' on nearly full lock (both ways).

So the question is really - does the power steering have a bleed system like brakes/clutch in case I have an airlock somewhere from letting the fluid go a bit low.

If not can it be made less heavy or am I looking at a replacement pump at last?

( I don't mind it being heavy, its just not consistent across the steering travel , so feels a bit unpredictable!)

Cheers

Mine is 300tdi so might be different but there is a bleed nipple right on top of the steering box
